Who we are

Endorse (“we”) provides a tool for creating reference and recommendation letters. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.

Information we collect

Account data: your name, email, and (if you use email/password) a securely hashed password and two-factor secret.
Letter data: the information you or your referrer enter — relationship, qualities, examples, credentials, the letter text, and the signature image.
Referrer data: if you request a referral, we store the referrer’s name and email to send them the request.
Payment data: payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store card numbers; we keep a payment reference and status.
Usage/technical data: basic logs needed to operate and secure the Service.

How we use it

To provide the Service — drafting, sending, signing, and delivering letters.
To authenticate you and secure your account.
To process payments and provide receipts.
To communicate about your letters and requests.

AI processing

To generate drafts, the information you provide for a letter is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to produce the text. We do not sell your data. See Anthropic’s policies for how they handle API data.

Sharing

We share data only with service providers that help us run the Service (hosting, database, email delivery, payments, AI generation), and when required by law. A referral letter and signing link are, by design, shared with the referrer you choose and returned to you.

Retention & your choices

We keep your data while your account is active. You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data by contacting us. Deleting your account removes your letters and associated data.

Security

We use industry-standard measures (encryption in transit, hashed passwords, hosted infrastructure). No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
